01. PIL seeking "ban" on lottery type chess tournaments all over India

Public well wishers or Public Prosecutors are requested to file a Public Interest Litigation "PIL" against All India Chess Federation conducting "lottery" type chess tournaments where 960 chess players lose money out of 1000 players. The tournament entry fees as high as Rs 2500 - Rs 6000 - Rs 9000 - Rs 10,000 for 3-4 days tournament. They don't provide accomodation also, in most cases. Sometimes, not even drinking water ?? Most of  "already struggling" chess players cannot afford such tournaments. There was a incident at RD International Schools, Erode in year 2014 where 4 Trichy players did not have money to return back to their city.

Cat A

Rs 10,000 entry fee. In 200 entries, they will collect equal to cash prize allotted. Hundreds of players will go home without anything .... losing their money in this lottery system. If there are 1000 players participating their collection is 100 Lakhs. If it is 500 players, it will be 50 Lakhs.

Cat B. Rs 6000 entry fee.

Cat C. Entry fee Rs 6000

This is buying a lottery ticket for Rs 6,000 and Rs 10,000 and hundreds of chess players going back not getting even one rupee out of it ???
